All about New and Used Laptop Batteries

A laptop battery is a very essential part of a laptop computer; it is what the entire system runs on when not hardwired into an outlet. A new or used laptop battery makes the laptop mobile and that is what more and more people are using laptop PCs for, is being mobile.

The battery, whether it be new or used must be in good condition, otherwise you will face many challenges with the laptop itself. Some of the general tips for laptop care are to avoid severe temperatures, and not to leave the laptop outside in cold weather or in high heat. Cold new or used laptop batteries can not generate a whole lot of power, where a new or used laptop battery that is overheated will discharge or harm your computer all together.

In order to tell if you new or used laptop battery needs a break is to take a look at the taskbar, there is an indication of the life and current capacity of your PC battery. If you happen to be using your laptop as a replacement for a desktop PC, then your new or used laptop battery should not be left in long – it kills the battery life faster.

It is a great idea to charge the battery whenever necessary and when the power source is available. If you are traveling, it is wise to charge the battery fully as electrical outlets may not be available at the destination.

Also, you will need to clean your new or used laptop batteries as often as possible although, it must be done by using a cotton swab and alcohol; cleaning your battery and connections will ensure you are getting the maximum amount of battery life. Keeping your laptop idle for too long without the battery in it can also harm the laptop itself, so beware.
